Summary
JOB TITLE: Casual Assistant
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Estate Manager/ Duty Manager/ Building and Security Officer
OBJECTIVE: To support the running of Didcot Town Council Properties
JOB SUMMARY: To support the upkeep and the day-to-day duties relating to the running of all Didcot Town Council Properties.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To support the Estate Manager/ Duty Manager/ Building and Security Officer in the everyday running of the Didcot Town Council properties while on shift.
2. Ensure the facility operates in line with Health and Safety and legislative requirements, and Council Policy and Procedures.
3. Bar operations including serving, stocking up, cash handling while in operation and cashing up.
4. Open and close/ lock up Council properties as required as set out on the rota.
5. Provides high standard of facility presentation and customer care. Responding to and acting on customer comments made in person, by telephone, email or letter.
6. Provide guidance to potential hirers, ensuring booking forms are accurately completed, handle payments, deposits and other requests as necessary.
7. To help set up the rooms for bookings which may include setting up tables, chairs, microphones, water and setting up sports facilities for hirers – manual lifting will be required.
8. To ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy and any items that require cleaning is dealt with.
9. Co-operate and manage contractors attending site and to report any maintenance issues/defects to the Estate Manager/ Duty Manager/ Building and Security Officer.
10. To support with serving of tea, coffee, and food to bookings, if required
11. Support Didcot Town Council events held within the properties and throughout Didcot.
12. To Provide first aid cover (Training provided if needed)
13. To assist with general administration tasks as directed by the Estate Manager including filing; photocopying; typing letters, reports, and other forms of record-keeping.
14. To attend training courses as required.
15. Any additional duties delegated by Senior Managers
16. You may be required to work at other sites run by or on behalf of the Didcot Town Council.

• Must be over the age of 18.
Desirable
• Confident communication skills.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Experience in cash handling.
• Personal Bar licence – Training available for right people
• Emergency First Aid
