Retail Assistant – North Devon District Hospital
Hours: 19.5 per week
Shifts: Monday 10:00–17:00, Saturday 09:30–16:30, Sunday 09:30–16:30
Pay: £12.51 per hour + potential overtime

Thisis a varied, fast‑paced role where no two days feel the same. You’llhelp keep our cafés, retail outlets, and dining areas running smoothly,ensuring every customer receives a warm welcome and high‑qualityservice.
What You’ll Do
- Serve food and beverages with excellent customer care
- Monitor and record food temperatures
- Restock shelves and displays using correct stock rotation
- Support stocktaking and ordering
- Prepare and deliver hospitality functions
- Operate tills and handle cash securely
- Clear tables, wash up, and maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Follow cleaning schedules and COSHH guidelines
- Support new colleagues through the “buddy” induction programme
What You Bring
- Experience in catering and/or retail environments
- Friendly, approachable manner and strong communication skills
- Pride in personal presentation and customer service
- Awareness of hygiene, infection control, and health & safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and grow within Sodexo
Desirable (not essential):
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service
