Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic band 7 Highly Specialist Respiratory Physiologist to join our expanding Respiratory Laboratory.

This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with a wonderful opportunity to develop skills and to perform a lead role performing cardio-pulmonary exercise testing within the respiratory laboratory.

Primarily based at the Respiratory Laboratory, Aintree University Hospital you will play an active role in this busy department. Leading the CPET service but also providing advanced PFT testing including challenge testing.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the medical team, our admin team, other clinical physiologists in the department and members of the multi-disciplinary team.

It is essential that you are self-motivated and have good communication skills. You should have clinical experience, preferably within the NHS.
• To perform and to take the lead in cardio-pulmonary exercise testing within the respiratory laboratory.
• To liase with surgical teams, lung cancer teams and diagnostic pathway co-ordinators to provide a safe and efficient service.
• To develop the service, as well as providing risk stratification and risk management strategies.
• To provide other advanced diagnostic testing for the respiratory lab as and when required.

· Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidenced-based Physiological Measurement.



· Provide expert advice and clinical practice.



· Participate in the education and development of other staff members



· Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.



· Participate in improvement of services and the quality of care provision.



· Undertakes personal scientific and clinical research and equipment evaluation



· Provides management support and cover for the Respiratory Laboratory Manager as and when required.
