Summary

Join our team as an Activity Co-ordinator (known as a Dementia Friend) at our nursing home in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire where you will be responsible for providing meaningful occupation and activities for our family members living in the home.

We are a real living wage employer and you will be paid £12.60 per hour as a Dementia Friend.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, 5 shifts per week 9am, - 5pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break per shift.

The role will include working alternative weekends.

Purpose of the role

We are looking for caring and positive people who can provide stimulating activities within the homes for our family members.

The role will involve planning events, trips, and special occasions for people living at Church Farm at Skylarks.

You will be responsible for creating a timetable of events and interesting activities for small and large groups of family members ensuring there are activities to everyone to enjoy.

Bring fun, ideas and energy into our family members lives and deliver a range of wellbeing ideas and experiences.

You will join a small team of Dementia Friends and will work as a team to deliver the above.

Skills, experience and qualifications

Ability to communicate confidently with people living with dementia
Strong listening and empathy skills
Ability to design meaningful and host engaging activities (arts and crafts, games, music sessions, gardening activities etc) encouraging involvement
Good organisation and time management skills
Previous experience working in a residential or nursing home environment is desirable but not essential
