Summary

School Administrator – SEN School

Location: Ealing, West London
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch break)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Our client, a specialist SEN school in the London Borough of Ealing, is seeking an experienced and professional School Administrator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a pivotal role within the school, supporting both leadership and teaching staff while contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy SEN environment.

The successful candidate will be part of a friendly and dedicated team, working in a welcoming and inclusive environment where staff and pupils thrive.

The Role:
This is a front-facing, highly organised role requiring excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail. Responsibilities include supporting the Senior Leadership Team, maintaining accurate pupil records, and ensuring the efficient running of school administrative systems. Experience in an SEN setting is highly desirable, particularly for candidates who have previously worked as an SEN Teaching Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, and wider staff team
Manage the school reception and act as the first point of contact for parents, carers, visitors, and external agencies
Maintain accurate and confidential pupil records
Use and maintain school management information systems (MIS) effectively (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom)
Support attendance monitoring, admissions, and pupil data management
Manage correspondence, emails, phone calls, and appointments
Support safeguarding and compliance administration in line with statutory requirements
Liaise with local authorities, external agencies, and service providers
Assist with the organisation of meetings, reviews, and school events
Contribute to the smooth daily running of a busy SEN school environment

Person Specification
Essential:
Previous experience in a school administration role
Experience using school management systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar)
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional, calm, and approachable manner
Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Desirable:
Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience working within a special educational needs setting
Knowledge of SEND processes and terminology
Experience supporting attendance, admissions, or safeguarding administration
