The Emergency Duty Service covers all aspects of Adult Social Care for East Sussex County Council outside of core hours. We work closely with our internal services, front door service who works 24 hours and our brokerage service who also supports at weekends as well as all our external stakeholders.

We are proud to offer a safe service for all citizens that require our support outside of the working hours.

The team contains a Practice Manager and 7 Senior Practitioners, all are AMHPs and will undertake Care Act duties.

The service will be under a redesign in the coming months.

This is an exciting time for the service as we take at refreshing our out of hours support. We require a manger that has a good foundation of Adult Social Care experience that includes Mental Health to support the future transformation.

This will also be a challenging time in support colleagues, driving the development of the service as well as continuing business as usual.

You will also be responsible for hiring new staff and building a team that can achieve consistent high levels of service. While you are developing your team, we will help you to progress your own professional development through excellent training, mentoring and support from committed senior leaders.

We are looking for candidates who have:

Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualified
Advanced knowledge of health and social care legislation
Experience of supervising Adult Social Care professionals or the potential to do so, for example development work in a health or social care setting
Working collectively with colleagues, both internal and external.
Performance management.
