Are you skilled at turning complex data into clear insights that drive decision-making and improvement?

Do you excel at building strong partnerships to deliver strategic change and maximise outcomes?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

APHA is a brilliant place to work where our people feel valued, have a voice and can be their authentic selves. We value difference and diversity, because it helps us be more innovative and make better decisions.

We are dedicated to being an inclusive employer, offering equitable opportunities for all individuals. Our goal is to build a diverse workforce, and we hope to attract applications from all backgrounds and underrepresented groups.

As a Benefits Manager within Projects & Change, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the Agency’s Vision, Mission, and strategic objectives. You will lead development of APHA’s benefits management approach, and define standards, tools and templates for benefits management. You will ensure benefits management practices are applied consistently across the whole APHA Change Portfolio. You will support project and programme managers to identify, quantify, and track the benefits that justify project investment, using clear and practical measurement approaches to provide assurance that these benefits can be achieved.

You will be required to carry out duties appropriate to the grade and purpose of the role including, but not limited to, the following:

Leadership and Management

Provide clear, strategic leadership across multiple teams, functions, and locations, ensuring alignment with the Agency's goals. Drive delivery of objectives to required standards, actively monitoring performance and taking action to maintain high quality. Lead the professional development of team members, champion best practice, and define benefits management strategies that support the wider organisation methodology.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring alignment with APHA objectives. Collaborate across teams to deliver shared goals, develop engagement plans, and ensure benefits are clearly identified, owned, and maximised. Prepare and present briefings to support stakeholder understanding and decision-making.

Data Analysis and Reporting

Lead the production and analysis of accurate, timely data and intelligence that informs decision-making to achieve the best outcome. Establish processes and standards for tracking benefits, identifying opportunities, and anticipating risks throughout the project lifecycle and beyond realisation.

Continuous Improvement

Promote and embed new systems, processes, and ways of working that enhance efficiency across APHA and the wider Defra group. Identify and implement improvements that optimise service delivery and maintain a robust Benefits Realisation Plan with appropriate change control.
