Summary
Title: Secondary SEN Learning Support Assistant | Westcliff-on-Sea Location Area
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)
The Environment: Real World Preparation This secondary-focused setting in the Westcliff area is a place where practical life skills and academic progress go hand-in-hand. The staff here are true "salt of the earth" professionals-people who understand that supporting teenagers with SEN requires a mix of firm boundaries, high energy, and a great sense of humor. The facilities are good, featuring vocational workshops and life-skills suites that provide a solid foundation for student growth. If you are looking for a team that is grounded, supportive, and genuinely cares about where these young people end up after they leave school, this is the place for you.
Your Role: More Than Just Support We need a proactive and involved LSA who can build meaningful rapport with older students. Your role is to bridge the gap between education and independence.
-
Positive Role Modeling: You will act as a consistent mentor, showing students how to navigate the challenges of young adulthood with a positive attitude.
-
Adaptable Approach: While your focus is secondary, you must be adaptable to different learning levels and ready to support the wider school community if needed.
-
Staff Integration: You will integrate with ease into a staff room where everyone pulls their weight and looks out for one another.
-
Care and Dignity: You will be open-minded regarding personal care duties, ensuring that students' physical and hygiene needs are met with professionalism and respect.
