About the Role

The club is looking for a reliable and proactive Caretaker/Cleaner to support the smooth running of daily operations. This role combines cleaning duties with light caretaking tasks, including setting up and taking down tables and chairs, and opening or locking up the building for events.

Working hours will vary between mornings and evenings, with split shifts depending on the club’s schedule. Flexibility is essential, and the role is ideally suited to someone living locally, given the need for timely lock‑ups and early openings.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily cleaning duties across the clubhouse, changing rooms, toilets, and communal areas
  • Morning and/or evening shifts depending on club activity
  • Setting up, lifting and taking down of heavy tables and chairs for events, meetings, and functions
  • Opening the club for morning/daytime events when required
  • Locking up the premises after evening events, ensuring the building is secure
  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness throughout the day during busy periods
  • Reporting maintenance issues to the Operations Manager
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times

Person Specification

  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Flexible with working hours, including split shifts
  • Physically able to move furniture such as tables and chairs
  • Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
  • Good attention to detail in cleaning and presentation
  • Trustworthy and comfortable with key‑holder duties
  • Ideally local to the club for ease of opening/closing
  • Experience in cleaning or caretaking is beneficial but not essential, as is being familiar with lock up procedures and alarm systems.

What We Offer

  • £14 per hour
  • 25 hours per week with flexibility
  • Permanent position within a friendly community club
  • Supportive working environment with clear guidance from the Operations Manager
