Summary
This is a one-year, full-time contract for a BSc/PGDip Specialist Community Public Health Nurse course (Health Visiting) starting September 2026. It includes university fee sponsorship and a Band 5 salary with a local government pension. Completion leads to an NMC recordable qualification and eligibility for a Health Visitor post. You'll work as a Student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse within the community, under daily support from a practice supervisor and oversight from a practice assessor and a university link tutor. The role involves working in accordance with Achieving for Children's policies and collaboration with the University Academic Tutor. Your responsibilities include attending university classes, practice placements, engaging in web-basedlearning, and regular supervision. You'll assess child protection concerns, participate in child protection supervision, and comply with RBWM Safeguarding Partnership policies. Adherence to the NMC Code of learning, and regular supervision. You're expected to actively engage in learning opportunities, identify your own learning needs, complete a Proficiency Based Portfolio, and achieve a BSc/Postgraduate Diploma. Participation in staff training, clinical supervision, and maintaining an electronic diary of work and mileage is also part of the role, along with effective communication with team members, clients, and carers, and responding to diverse communication needs.
