Job duties
• Reading Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji
• Advising members of the congregation on correct pronunciation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
• To help head priest and other priests perform sacrament of religious events, tending to the sick, needy and elderly members of the Sikh community.
• To assist in playing musical instruments while the head priest performs Kirtan to the local congregation.
• Help in organising a coordinating and promoting activities and community based initiatives.
• To report with the Gurudwara administrator and chairperson or other designated representative of the employer.
• To ensure cleanliness and hygiene at premises.
• To adhere to Gurudwara rules, processes, procedures, and policies.
• To be accountable for a range of activities as may be required by the Gurdwara Sahib in non-pastoral role.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Language
• A minimum of 3 years previous experience.
• Must be Sikh initiated ("baptised")
• The person should be able to assist priests in Gurudwara.
• Must be fully proficient in Punjabi language (reading, writing and speaking) and must be able to read Gurbani
