About the job.

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for an Operational Technology Data Manager to join our team in Digital Services. The Operational Technology Data Manager works within the Specifications and Governance pillar of the Operational Technology Systems Engineering (OTSE) group and is responsible for ensuring that the Master Record Index of Operational Technology product data (Item Codes) is maintained and up to date. The index is critical in ensuring that Operational Technology products deployed on the Strategic Road Network are current, easily ordered by road projects, integrate with other products on the road and are maintainable.

Please note this role can be based from any of our UK offices however travel to regional offices to attend team meetings will be required.

  • Keep Operational Technology product data in the Master Record Index up to date by establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on the process to apply for an Operational Technology product Item Code and process new Item Code applications.
  • Communicate details of changes to the Master Record Index to stakeholders.
  • Actively collaborate with and support the cross directorate Operational Technology community to address queries and feedback related to product data.
  • Ensure that the information held within the Oracle stock management system reflects the current position in accordance with the Master Record Index. Actively work with internal colleagues to validate the information held and remove errors or omissions.
  • Manage the team inbox and support other team members of the OTSE group with ad hoc projects and tasks as required.

About you.

  • Familiar with record keeping or stock management systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experienced in prioritising workload based on resources and delivery demand.
  • Capable of making and guiding effective decisions, explaining clearly how the decision has been reached.
  • Ability to participate in or assist with the governance and assurance of a service.
  • Knowledge of products in the Operational Technology environment (desirable).
  • Awareness and understanding of the hierarchical relationships between sub-assemblies within a product (desirable).
