Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a growing, successful & established family-run SME based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire to recruit an experienced & hands-on Finance Manager. A newly created role due to business growth reporting directly to the Financial Director. The position is varied, supporting in a range of duties from managing monthly reporting, overseeing cash flow and working capital, to business partnering and process improvement projects. The position can offer future succession planning for a Financial Controller role in 2 - 3 years and will be tailored around the right candidate. Open to qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA Accountants, candidates qualified by experience will also be considered. A great opportunity to progress and help shape the future of a growing SME.
Your new role
Your key duties will support overseeing the financial health of the business, reporting directly to the Financial Director. You will manage monthly and annual reporting, oversee cashflow, working capital and financial risk, along with conducting contract and project reviews to support decision-making. You will assist senior management and operational departments with financial insights and performance tracking, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements along with driving continuous improvement to financial systems and processes. There is an opportunity to really develop as you grow with the business with future succession planning for a more senior role.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this varied and hands-on Finance Manager role, you will be qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience. Strong communication skills to partner internally and externally at all levels and with operational management, key MS Excel skills, trained in a range of financial systems, along with being willing to learn and adapt to business needs. You will be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines and will be a team player willing to support others around the organisation. Experience within the engineering or construction sectors, small to medium-sized businesses, and Sage knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.
