About the Role:

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are looking for Care Assistants to work with our service user in the Devizes area. We will provide full training and competency assessment & sign off for care assistants to assist with Medicine Management (Administering subcutaneous Injections), Epilepsy, Stroke Monitoring and management, and Type 2 Diabetes. These things, all in all, contribute to major personal challenges for our service users' physical and mental health.

The ideal care assistant to work in this exciting role will be someone who is bubbly, outgoing, enthusiastic, patient and empathetic. The service user likes to engage with their care assistants and chat about their life, so please don't be shy when it comes to talking.

Our service user has accomplished many things in their life, including completing their A Levels and finishing University during the height of their battle with cancer. They have selflessly volunteered to provide support to those less fortunate, but this has become more challenging for them as their health has declined.

We are looking for care assistants who want a long-term career working with the service user, where they can really make a difference to their life. These successful candidates should be able to embody these resilient and empathetic attitudes.

The service user would like to get out into the community; therefore, there will be high levels of manual handling. Being physically fit is an advantage as you will need to push their wheelchair. When accessing the community, our service user will be using the service user's car, so you must be a driver holding a full UK Driving License.

Our service user has a lot to contend with, and sometimes the enormity of what they have had to endure in their life can make them feel very low. By being a proactive carer and researching new and exciting things for them to explore within the local community will benefit not only the carer-service user bond but also improve their mental health and social wellbeing

Our service user has a passion for still-life photography by taking pictures of objects within their surroundings, whilst also having a love for cooking, they would like support from carers to cook more nutritious meals.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Here at Sugarman Health and Wellbeing, we are looking for an outgoing, bubbly candidate who can show their best assets in providing the highest quality of support.
  • A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience.
  • Complex Care experience preferred, but not a mandatory need.
  • To provide the correct compliance documents, including updated Right to Work and original DBS certificate.
