About the role

We are looking for a Communications Officer to join our Communications and Policy Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, innovative and creative communications and marketing professional to join the Scottish Social Services Council. You will be a key member of our team with the experience, skills and knowledge to implement and deliver our communications priorities.

[This role is not suitable for secondment.]

What you need to succeed

You will be an experienced, innovative communications professional, able tocreate engaging content, managing a variety of activities and demands.

You will have:

an SCQF Level 9 qualification (ie a degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, public relations or a related subject)
a successful record of delivery in communications and/or marketing
experience using a mix of engagement tools and channels
a strong creative approach, producing innovative and effective content, campaigns and information across digital and other channels
experience of organising events, in person and online
experience of applying and using analytical tools to provide customer insight, evaluation and develop content
experience of using web platforms and their content management systems eg SharePoint, WordPress
experience using MS Teams and Office 365
excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build great working relationships
concise and clear oral and written skills and be able to convey complex messages effectively using plain language.

The starting salary for this post will be at the minimum point of the advertised pay scale.
