Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow ST2 Equivalent within Neurology with on call Rota to start as soon as possiable. The Post is recognised for the MBBS or equivelent. All applicants must hold a current GMC registration.

BHRUT is one of the largest Associate Teaching Hospitals,providing acute care for over 700;000 people from across 2 main sites - Queens and King George Hospitals, as well as peripheral sites at Barking Dagenham and Brentwood. We are a major Neuroscience Centre and are undergoing further significant development as a tertiary referral centre for the North East London and Essex including additional critical care capacity We are also a major Cancer Centre and are actively striving to enhance the range of our services, including the development of a PET CT service In addition our Trust is in an excellent location, close to central London and well situated in the South East. As well as all the advantages of being close to the city, you will discover that Essex has a beautiful countryside as well as excellent schools, transport links, amenities and residential area The Trust has an on sit Nursery facilities.

The trust aims to provide a comprehensive 7 day Service to patients and this may affect the working patterns currently being advertised for this post.

The appointee will:

• Have a continuing responsibility for the clinical care of patients in their charge and for the proper functioning of the department.

• Deliver a high-quality responsive Neurology service to the patients who use it.

• Undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients and the running of a clinical department.

• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current practices.

• Maintain their professional development with all available training opportunities and ensure compliance with mandatory training.

• Participate in sub-specialty outpatient clinics.

• Responsible for the Neurology patient flow within the Hospital

• Be part of the on-call rota within the Neurology service

The post holder is encouraged to attend all teaching events and participate in clinical audits.

In pursuing these duties, the postholder will ensure compliance with the NHS Constitution and be familiar with the NHS England Guidance ‘Understanding the new NHS’ (details of which can be found in the links section of NHS Jobs).

We run aWomen’s Health Hub in Ilford; anAgeing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) atBarking Community Hospital and atSt George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
