Summary

Neway International are looking for a Maintenance Surveyor to join our client based with the Royal Borough of Kingston.

This role is based at Guildhall 2, with a 36‑hour working week and standard hours of 09:00–17:00.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out building maintenance inspections across the council’s property portfolio.

Identify defects, maintenance requirements and compliance issues, ensuring timely reporting and follow‑up.

Prepare schedules of work, specifications and cost estimates for repairs and planned maintenance.

Oversee contractors on site, ensuring safe working practices and adherence to council standards.

Support the delivery of statutory compliance activities, including fire safety, water hygiene and general building safety.

Respond to urgent maintenance issues and provide technical advice to internal stakeholders.

Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation in line with council procedures.

Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in building maintenance surveying or a similar property/technical role.

Strong understanding of building fabric, maintenance processes and statutory compliance.

Ability to assess defects, specify remedial works and manage contractors effectively.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.

Competent IT skills and experience using property or asset management systems.
