BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION APPRENTICE
Location: Guardian House, West Bromwich B708GS Salary: £19,240.00 per annum plus excellent benefits Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

As a Business Administration Apprentice in our Citizen Services team, you will support the delivery of the Restart programme which involves customer-facing tasks where you will provide effective administrative and telephony support to both the operations team and Restart participants, either in person at the delivery centre or via telephone. You may also support the wider administration team with apprenticeship and training programme delivery.
Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you will undertake a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, with dedicated protected time to focus on your studies.


What you’ll do as a Business Administration Apprentice
- Deliver consistently high levels of customer service to participants and internal teams
- Act as a professional and welcoming first point of contact in a front-of-house environment
- Manage reception duties and greet all visitors with exceptional customer service
- Serve as one of the main points of contact for incoming phone calls
- Capture data accurately and maintain database records
- Order office supplies and work uniforms/PPE
- Support office management tasks, including health & safety, archiving, and SMS processes
- Manage petty cash flow and process participant travel reimbursements
- Resolve issues efficiently and professionally
- Provide cover for Warm Handover Calls when required
- Undertake additional administrative duties appropriate to the role

- Must hold GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above
- Confident communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone
- Ability to input data accurately and at speed
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach
- Ability to adhere strictly to programme requirements and Serco policies and procedures

Vetting and checks:
This role requires BPSS clearance, which involves identity verification, employment history, and criminal record checks to meet government security standards. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be required to ensure we can offer appropriate support for your wellbeing and performance.
