About the Client

Their Facilities & Environment service plays a vital role in ensuring communal areas are kept to a high standard, supporting resident wellbeing and contributing to a safe and pleasant living environment.
The Role
The Housing Caretaker will work as part of an in‑house caretaking team responsible for cleaning and maintaining internal and external communal areas across the council’s housing stock. This is a physically active role requiring reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clean internal and external communal areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and litter picking.
Remove bulk waste and maintain cleanliness of car parks, service roads, and shared spaces.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety, fire safety, and building safety regulations.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards across all assigned areas.
Carry out duties in a professional, conscientious, and efficient manner.
Candidate Requirements
Experience in caretaking or cleaning within a professional environment.
Physically fit and able to undertake manual tasks.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
Full clean UK Manual Driving Licence (essential).
