Summary

Fixed Term Contract (for 24 months)

This fixed term post will work as part of the Public Health and Prevention Team of B&NES Council to contribute to public health improvement and protection, with a particular emphasis on smoking cessation support and working with workplaces and priority communities.

About the role:

It will support the aims of the B&NES Tobacco Control Strategy and the B&NES Whole Systems Health Improvement Framework – Be Well B&NES.
B&NES Council has received grant funding to support the Governments ambition to create a smoke free generation. This post is funded via this grant and your portfolio will include working in partnership with teams within the Council, B&NES Wellness Service, NHS, local businesses and the third sector to develop, implement and evaluate effective measures to increase the numbers of people setting a quit date and successfully quitting smoking. A key focus of your role will be working with local employers and priority communities to facilitate health improvement activities to their employees and members.

About you:

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) in a relevant area such as public health, environmental health, behavioural science or similar. You will have experience of developing health improvement initiatives in a range of settings, managing complex projects and working in partnership with stakeholders and partners. You will also have experience of co-ordinating communication campaigns, facilitating workshops and presenting information to groups.
