Summary
We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive UK sales growth for a leading British engineering and manufacturing business specialising in machinery used across construction, demolition, recycling, and quarrying sectors. This is a hands-on sales and business development role with responsibility for managing key accounts, generating new business, and representing high-quality industrial machinery.
What the role involves:

Delivering proactive sales and business development across the UK, managing relationships with dealers and end-users in construction, civil engineering, plant hire, and recycling sectors.

Managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation through quoting, closing, and after-sales support.

Supporting marketing initiatives and preparing materials for dealer and customer engagement.

Leveraging your technical knowledge of machinery to recommend the right solutions for customers.

Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients and distributors to drive sales and business development success.

Using CRM systems to manage pipelines, track opportunities, and report on sales performance.
This is a full 360 business development and sales role where you will have ownership of new business opportunities and key accounts, working closely with senior managers to deliver tangible results.
About you:

Must have hands-on experience in the construction, recycling, quarrying, or plant hire industries.

Proven track record in sales or business development within technical or industrial markets.

Confident making proactive outbound calls and generating new business leads.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence dealers and end customers alike.

UK driving license and willingness to travel across the UK on occasion.

Ambitious, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a dynamic, SME-focused environment.
