About the Role


Groundforce is the market leading rental provider of excavation support, providing specialist equipment to customers worldwide. Provide full support to your line manager delivering excellent service, ensuring all depot transactions are completed safely, timely, efficiently, accurately and in line with company policies/procedures/processes and customer requirements to meet the overall objectives of the business.Furthermore inspect, service and maintain Groundforce equipment and depot assets to specified quality standards, as set down by the company.


Key Responsibilities


  • Working in the Depot under instructions from the Depot Foreman/Leadinghand to make equipment ready for hire
  • Liaise with your line manager, to agree and understand our customers’ requirements and ensure that the highest level of service is maintained
  • Inspect, service and repair hydraulic hire equipment and depot assets in line with level of competency, to company procedures ensuring company policies and processes are followed
  • Attend breakdown’s of our equipment on customer sites to undertake the inspection, servicing and repair of our equipment where safe to do so and in line with level of competency, to company procedures ensuring company policies and processes are followed
  • Where deemed necessary, inspect, service and repair specified hire equipment and depot assets in line with level of competency, to company procedures ensuring company policies and processes are followed
  • Use of pneumatic/electrical hand tools (full in-house training will be provided)
  • Keep up to date and accurate service/inspection records at all times
  • Identify and record damage of out of service equipment
  • Drive counter-balance or multi-directional forklift trucks to load/unload vehicles, move, prepare and store equipment (full in-house training will be provided)
  • Use pressure washer to clean equipment
  • Ensure stock levels are accurately maintained and quality of equipment is kept in line with company quality standards
  • Have a positive attitude towards Health, Safety and the Environment reporting any issues to your supervisor
  • Maintain your working environment to a high standard keeping clean and tidy
  • Occasionally drive the depot van
  • When considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business

What we’re looking for


  • Ability to complete records, paperwork accurately is essential
  • Capability to use scanners, PDA’s, tablets and computers
  • Hydraulic systems knowledge and ability to fault find is essential
  • A reasonable level of fitness is required
  • To be flexible, trustworthy and reliable and have excellent time keeping skills is essential
  • Valid full clean driving licence

Preferable skills:

  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge of shoring commercial operations
  • Working knowledge of construction/housing/civil engineering industry advantageous
  • Knowledge of shoring/hire industry
  • Mechanical experience would be advantageous but not essential
