As our services continue to grow, we’re excited to welcome aHealthcare Scientist or Radiographerwith experience indiagnostic radiology and mammography physicsto our expanding Radiation Physics team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a department that underpins safe, high‑quality imaging across the Trust and beyond.

Our Diagnostic Radiology and Radiation Safety Sections ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff who come into contact with ionising and non‑ionising radiation, including X‑ray, CT, ultrasound and lasers.
In this varied and rewarding position, you will:
• Provide high‑quality scientific support to the Trust and external partners.
• Lead the delivery ofmammography physics servicesto NHSBSP screening centres across Kent and symptomatic breast imaging units across the South East.
• Act as thesite leadfor NHSBSP services supported by our department.
• Contribute to thequality assurance programmefor a wide range of diagnostic radiology equipment, including CT, general X‑ray, angiography and fluoroscopy.
What Our Radiation Physics Team Delivers:
You’ll be part of a highly skilled team providing a broad range of safety and technical services, including:
• Performance checks and quality control testing on diagnostic X‑ray equipment
• Development and maintenance of local rules, risk assessments and radiation safety documentation
• Expertlaser safetyadvice
• Management of thepersonal dosimetry servicefor staff across MTW and partner organisations
• Instrument calibration services
• Support for radioactive waste and source management
• Training and education for clinical and technical staff
You’ll also provide specialist guidance on legislation, national standards and compliance, helping departments maintain safe and effective practice.
