Summary

The Opportunity

This post represents the opportunity join a small and highly motivated team of colleagues in Keele University’s Information & Digital Services Directorate. The Directorate is responsible for the smooth running of technology and infrastructure for the University. Your role is a key part of ensuring the security, development, and operation enabling the university to work safely, securely and efficiently.

As Cybersecurity Architect, you will be responsible for reviewing, designing, implementing, and maintaining the overall security technical approach for the University. You will work closely with various IT teams and the wider university to ensure that security measures are integrated into all aspects of our technology, processes and culture. Your role is critical in defending against cyber threats and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our data and systems.

You will be working both as an integral part of the Cybersecurity team and liaising across university departments where needed to advance key technical and cultural initiatives. This is a key role to the successful provision of the university’s cybersecurity posture taking an active role to maintain and advance the Information & Digital Services strategic plan.

You will have substantial experience in technical security architecture, with proven and demonstrable skills and in-depth understanding of cloud and on prem architecture from the major industry vendors.

This role is hybrid with the incumbent expected to be on site at least 3 times a week or when required for longer pieces of work at the Keele Campus.

Please note that the starting salary will typically be at the bottom of the pay scale shown above.
