Hastings Borough Council is looking for a confident and detail-oriented Revenues Court Officer to lead on court proceedings for unpaid Council Tax, Business Rates, and Housing Benefit Overpayments.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience in debt recovery and court representation, this could be the perfect role for you.
What You’ll Do:
Represent the Council in court for recovery proceedings.
Prepare and present legal evidence for liability orders, charging orders, and insolvency cases.
Work closely with legal teams, enforcement agents, and other stakeholders.
Negotiate payment arrangements and ensure debts are recovered fairly.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in court representation and local tax recovery.
Strong knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates legislation.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage workloads independently under pressure.
