Our prestigious client based in Fradley Park, Lichfield - has an exciting position available due to internal growth and expansion for a CNC Setter Operator to join their team. Supporting industries such as aerospace, medical, power generation, and motor sports by solving complex manufacturing challenges and improving process efficiency.
About the Role
With your engineering background You'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining 5/6 axis CNC grinding machines-primarily Walter Helitronic and Rollomatic Tool & Cutter Grinders. You'll also work with Helicheck inspection systems and be involved in wheel dressing and balancing. Excellent company to work for - full benefits package and a clean tidy working environment.
Duties of a CNC Setter Operator
- Set up and operate CNC grinding machines to produce precision carbide tooling
- Maintain product specifications and inspect output using appropriate measuring equipment
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues
Experience Required for a CNC Setter Operator
- Minimum 4 years of 5 axis machining / setting experience, tool grinding experience is a definite advantage
- Ability to read technical drawings and use inspection equipment
- Time-served apprenticeship preferred, or equivalent experience in engineering
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel; AutoCAD knowledge a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to diagnose machine issues
