Summary
We are seeking a caring, nurturing and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with individual pupils and small groups to support learning, independence and wellbeing, both in and out of the classroom.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference to children's lives and who understands that progress looks different for every child.

Key Responsibilities:
· Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, ensuring they feel safe, understood and included
· Promote pupils' independence, confidence and positive self-esteem
· Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups
· Adapt resources and approaches to meet individual needs
· Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
· Contribute to a calm, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
· Will have a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with SEND
· Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when needed
· Is patient, empathetic and child-centred
· Be willing to learn, reflect and engage in professional development
· Isn't afraid to participate in messy play and outdoor activities
· Has experience working with children (school-based experience is desirable but not essential)
· Understands that behaviour is sometimes an alternative form of communication
Working Hours
Monday - Friday
8.30am-3.30pm
Term time only
Full-time and Part-time availability
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
