What you will be doing
The role is Part-Time Night Support Worker, 20 hours per week, rolling rota, including weekends.
The role involves providing overnight support for 12 adult clients within a residential care home. The home has a client that is immobile and a wheelchair user, requiring full support throughout the night to ensure their safety, comfort, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting an immobile client with moving and handling using a hoist (training can be provided if required)
- Carrying out regular welfare checks during the night
- Completing hourly checks on a client located on the third floor of the property
(Please note there is no lift access within the house) - Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns appropriately
- Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive night-time environment
Physical Requirements
This role is physically demanding and includes:
- Manual handling
- Frequent use of stairs throughout the night
- Maintaining alertness during night shifts

Essential Requirements
- Ability to carry out physically demanding duties
- Willingness to work night shifts on a rolling rota, including weekends
- Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach
- Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided

Gresham House provides a specialist residential service for all gender identities who have a learning disability, or who are autistic, and have behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be of concern/distress.

- Self-injurious behaviours
- Individuals who may have limited hearing or sight
- Individuals with mobility issues who may require a wheelchair
The aim of the service is to encourage individuals to lead a full and purposeful life, enabling them to live more independently in the heart of the community. This is achieved through a programme of active community engagement, that promotes meaningful social networks and the development of bespoke coping strategies.
This also supports developing further independence and social skills, including participating in meal preparation, learning about safety measures both in their environment and out in the community.
