If you’re motivated by delivering commercial value, shaping procurement strategy, and leading people, this is an exciting opportunity to join TfGM as a Senior Procurement Manager.
In this role, you will lead revenuebased procurement activity across a diverse and meaningful portfolio, spanning technology, ticketing, highways, clean energy, facilities management, and corporate services. Your work will directly support the organisation’s mission to keep Greater Manchester moving and deliver better outcomes for our communities, and deliver tangible contracts, benefits, and outcomes, that can be seen across Greater Manchester.
Your Role
In this role you will have the opportunity for:
- Leading and developing a team of procurement professionals, creating a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Driving procurement excellence across a varied spend portfolio, from ensuring legal compliance on lower-value requirements to shaping and managing complex, high-value commercial activity.
- Partnering with stakeholders at all levels, offering expert commercial insight, strategic guidance, and innovative solutions.
- Personally delivering major procurement projects that have real, visible impact across the city region.
- Ensuring best practice, value for money, and commercial robustness in everything you and your team deliver.
What You'll Bring
You’ll be commercially astute, influential, confident operating in a dynamic public sector environment, and will bring significant experience in procurement. You’ll bring strategic insight, strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complexity while keeping people engaged and informed.
You’ll be comfortable in team management, as well as directly leading complex procurement activity. You’ll have significant experience of end-to-end procurement, ideally in a public sector environment, and be comfortable making risk-based decisions.
You’ll have a strong track record of managing both low and high-value contracts across a range of categories, ideally including either technology, facilities, or green energy and associated infrastructure. You’ll have led complex sourcing projects and delivered measurable savings.
Working at TfGM
This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of at least two days a week in our office. You’ll be joining a passionate and supportive Procurement team at the heart of TfGM corporate and commercial services.

This is a permanent role with a salary of £70,906 to £79,805 per annum depending on skills and experience.
