Summary

A Vacancy at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.


To provide advanced level specialist assessment, treatment and education of patients. To determine clinical diagnosis and orthopaedic management/treatment indicated, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. To work independently and alongside the orthopaedic shoulder consultants in clinic in an extended role listing for surgery, requesting investigations, and any further management.

This post would be suitable for Band 7 applicants to apply for as a development role to progress into the Band 8a role.

To act as an independent practitioner demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills within musculoskeletal therapy with a specific specialism in the field of shoulder conditions. This includes the integration of research evidence in to practice via the process of advanced clinical reasoning and decision making.

To use this knowledge to provide an advisory service to patients, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals, GP's and consultants.

To attend service level discussions/meetings relating to your area of work independently and as delegated by the relevant Senior Operational Manager.

To support research and to contribute to the future development of the service.

To contribute to the establishment of protocols, guidance and patient information for the development of the service
