DWP. Digital with Purpose.

Do you want to help shape the future of digital public services?

Can you design and develop Configuration Management services and tools for the UK's largest government department?

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive, forwardthinking environment

DWP Digital is recruiting a Configuration Manager to join our growing Configuration Management team. In this role, you'll help design, develop and enhance our Configuration Management services and tooling.

You'll play a central role in managing and evolving our Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring it provides accurate, reliable and meaningful data to support some of the country's most critical digital platforms.

You'll be part of the team responsible for setting the direction of Configuration Management and driving how the CMDB is used across DWP Digital. This is a pivotal moment for the team as we support major strategic digital programmes, ensuring the CMDB holds the highquality data needed to meet stakeholder and service requirements.

Your work will span both daytoday operational activity and longterm service improvements.

You'll contribute to our Configuration Management roadmap, support ongoing needs across digital products and services, and help guide continual enhancements to the way we manage configuration data.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Strong experience in IT Configuration Management, with handson expertise in CMDBs and delivering effective solutions in complex environments using industrystandard data models
  • Working knowledge of Service Management frameworks, ideally ITIL
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate and deliver with stakeholders at all levels
  • Skilled in ServiceNow and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with related analytical and reporting tools
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability, using problemsolving, data and insight to optimise processes and support informed decisionmaking in a fastpaced environment

You and your role

Day to day, you'll provide technical support to infrastructure, IT Operations and transition projects, helping to deliver a highquality service and consistent capability across DWP as we transform the way we deliver public services used by millions of people.

You'll ensure we stay aligned to Configuration Management policies and standards, maintaining the integrity of Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships.

You'll develop and implement Configuration Management plans and procedures, agree scope with stakeholders and ensure changes are properly assessed, approved and communicated.

You'll manage and improve the CMDB and associated processes, capturing, tracking, auditing and reporting on configuration data to ensure accuracy and availability.

And you'll be working with skilled stakeholders and other tech experts to optimise data quality, maintain configuration tools and provide management information on process effectiveness.
