TEACHING TECHNICIAN – GRADE 5

£29,588 - £33,951 pa

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual with an interest in veterinary clinical skills to develop a new technical role at The University of Liverpool School of Veterinary Science. This grade 5 role sits within a larger “Post Mortem Materials” technical team, supporting teaching provision across anatomy, pathology and clinical skills, and the successful applicant will work closely with the technical and academic staff to enhance the learning experience for year 1-3 veterinary students in these subject areas.

You will have responsibility for supporting clinical skills teaching by preparing and supporting classes and assessments, maintaining equipment and the facility to a high standard, working with the academic staff to develop and enhance physical and virtual teaching resources, and training wider technical team to develop their skills in this area.

You must be educated to BTEC Higher level or equivalent, and relevant clinical skills and technical experience are highly desirable as is experience with supporting learning. This post would be particularly suited to Registered Veterinary Nurse applicants or those with comparable experience and qualifications. Experience in leading and mentoring others would be beneficial, and an ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential.

You will require a full UK driving license, and applicants should note that heavy lifting and working with sharp instruments and hazardous chemicals are required on a regular basis.
