Summary
Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a long-term, live-out position for a professional Housekeeper with some nanny and cooking duties, working within a friendly and well-established private family in a desirable Essex location.
The family resides in a well-presented three-storey home with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, although only part of the property is regularly in use, creating a calm and manageable working environment. The household consists of two adults, a two-year-old child and two small, friendly dogs.
This is a full-time role, working between forty and fifty hours per week from Monday to Friday, offering stability and long-term security for the right candidate.
The housekeeping element of the role focuses on maintaining the home to a high standard through general and periodic deep cleaning, laundry, ironing to a good domestic standard, changing bed linen, wardrobe organisation, kitchen maintenance, household stock management and occasional errands. There are no special materials in the home, entertaining is minimal, and floor-cleaning equipment is provided.
The role also includes some childcare duties, required only by prior arrangement with the parents. These may include collecting the child from nursery, spending time together through simple play, and preparing lunch on occasion. Sole charge may be required when the parents are travelling, by mutual agreement. Experience with toddlers is therefore highly desirable.
Cooking is an important part of the role, with responsibility for preparing healthy family dinners. The family enjoys a varied and balanced diet, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients, vegetables, meat and fish, and no restrictive dietary requirements.
The household includes two small dachshunds. No formal pet care is required, although the role includes preparing simple breakfasts for the dogs as instructed. A dog-friendly attitude and confident driving skills are essential, as the role involves nursery collections and grocery replenishment.
The position offers an attractive remuneration package of up to £45,000 annually gross, depending on experience, alongside additional benefits provided through the family’s company. These may include a formal contract, pension contributions and potential access to healthcare and gym membership support. This role is well suited to a professional seeking a stable, long-term position within a respectful household, where they can become a valued and trusted part of the family.
