SALARY: £27,779 FTE / £20,928 Actual Annual Salary (Grade D-Step 1) + Benefits
LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire (SO30)
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent (term time only)
WORKING HOURS: 32.5 hours per week, 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only, 39 weeks

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging learning activities, provide targeted support and help maintain high standards of behaviour and wellbeing across the school.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA will include:
• Supporting Classroom Learning: Working with whole classes to deliver planned learning activities
• Small Group Teaching: Delivering targeted interventions to support pupil progress
• One-to-One Support: Providing individualised learning support where required
• Safeguarding and Welfare: Promoting pupil safety and wellbeing at all times
• Behaviour Support: Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Lesson Preparation: Assisting teachers with resources and classroom organisation
• Progress Monitoring: Observing and reporting on pupil development and attainment
• Inclusive Practice: Supporting pupils with diverse learning needs
• Team Collaboration: Working effectively with teachers and support staff
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• HLTA Qualification: Hold a recognised Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification
• School-Based Experience: Previous experience working within a school setting
• Safeguarding Knowledge: A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Positive Attitude: Flexible, adaptable and willing to take on new challenges
• Professional Integrity: Able to act with professionalism and discretion
• Teamwork Skills: Able to work collaboratively and independently
