This is a temp maternity cover position, ideal for an educator who thrives in small-group teaching and understands the importance of relational practice when supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the Role

As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging and accessible Humanities lessons (such as History, Geography, and/or Religious Studies) to small classes of no more than six learners. The successful candidate will be able to adapt lessons, differentiate effectively, and provide structure, consistency, and calm for students with complex SEMH needs.

This role offers a genuinely rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on young people’s education, confidence, and future outcomes.

Teach Humanities subjects in small class settings with a strong focus on engagement and progress

Apply a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach to behaviour and learning

Work collaboratively with pastoral staff and behaviour support teams

Promote resilience, confidence, and aspiration in every learner

About You

Qualified Teacher (QTS or equivalent) in Humanities or a related subject

Strong subject knowledge with experience teaching KS3 and/or KS4

Patient, consistent, and emotionally resilient

Experience within an SEMH school, PRU, or alternative provision is desirable but not essential

Passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils to succeed

What the Setting Offers

Supportive leadership and clear behaviour frameworks

A specialist SEMH environment designed around pupil needs

Ongoing CPD and long-term development opportunities

A collaborative team committed to positive outcomes for young people
