This is a busy unit that cares for patients who have undergone complex vascular surgery, those requiring acute surgical care as well as vascular patients from the South West region.
As a Sister, you will lead the nursing team in the delivery of evidence based patient centred care, which is of high standard. You will work in partnership with the Senior Sister and ward team in developing the team and provision of the service, forming working relationships with the surgical teams and wider MDT that contribute to care of our patients. You will be involved in the co-ordination of the ward, patient flow, completion of audits and mentoring and supporting of junior staff. You will also be a key member in facilitating changes in needs of the service and play a vital role in the development of the ward team including their ongoing development.

you will provide leadership to your team in the absence of the band 7 and maintain high standards of care for your patients. You will encourage and support staff with their mandatory training and ensure that all audits are completed in a timely manner. have an established team within this unique speciality , who are motivated and keen to teach others . working within ASCR you will be supported and encouraged to learn new skills to provide excellent standard of care for your patients . take charge of the ward on a regular basis and deal with patient flow throughout the division and work closely with OPs . attend meetings and be able to feedback to your team and encourage a good learning environment within your ward .
