Transport OperatorGlasgowShifts Mon-Fri first week 06:30 AM
- 15:00 PM and next week 09:30
- 18:00 PM the shifts will alternateWe are looking to recruit a Transport Operator to work within our busy distribution department in Glasgow. Working within a team providing good and accurate communication to customers and drivers. Strong transport knowledge regarding legal compliance, drivers hours, vehicle dimensions, weights and capacity preferred. What will you be doing?
- Prepare correct documentation to the warehouse for loading/offloading cargo to vehicles, in a timely manner
- Perform and correctly implement General Administration, e.g. invoicing; filing; queries; claims; check costs
- Communicate with internal and external customers, drivers, suppliers, and other offices.
- Planning or re-planning of Distribution vehicles / routes
- Utilise vehicle fleet effectively
- Produce any reports/KPI's required
- Monitor daily transport performance and identify areas for improvementAbout You
- Experience planning a fleet of subcontracted vehicles
- Good knowledge of UK geographical areas, motorways and roads
- Excellent communicator with good customer service skills
- Proficient in PC and Transport Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Drivers Hours & Transport Regulations
- Ability to multi-task under pressure and solve problems
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
