Summary

File medical reports, correspondences, results, etc in patient notes according to internal procedures Scan clinical letters, reports etc and non-medical papers using software Deal with telephone queries from patients appropriately and efficiently Participate fully and share knowledge and information in order to achieve team objectives and high quality standards Support colleagues and promote good working practices Communicate effectively by competent use of email, telephone, and memos according to guidelines Collect, process, distribute incoming mail Handling prescription requests Extraction of medical records for GP, Solicitors, Insurance Companies Taking telephone messages for GPs and members of staff when required Participate in any relevant training to further your skills and knowledge as directed by Practice Manager or GP Undertake any other duties as requested when other members of staff are absent Patient registration on EMIS Webregistration template accurately Change of address, patients details etc. to record on patients profile on EMIS Web To undertake any training internally or externally To check and ensure that all lights and bulbs, central heating system, are switched off; closed all doors and windows; check all toilets while closing the Practice. Responsibilities Plan and organize own time and prioritise workload Work unsupervised while effectively manage own time, workload and resources Ensure that patient information is accurately recorded and that new information is disseminated to all members of staff and records are updated accordingly Take responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patients needs Communication The post-holder should recognize the importance of effective communication within the team and will strive to: Communicate effectively with other team members Communicate effectively with patients and carers This job description is not meant to be exhaustive and simply gives a broad outline of the duties involved.
