The post holder will be an integral member of the Faculty liaising on behalf of the newly established Northampton Business Clinic across the University and with external stakeholders, including:

Providing a high level of professional, confidential and effective administrative support in managing the work of the Business Clinic, including supporting the management of the Clinic space.

Providing administrative support for the Northampton Business Clinic Manager, servicing Business Clinic meetings/activities/events as required, including scheduling, production and dissemination of documentation, minute taking and monitoring of actions and following up outcomes.

Developing, reviewing and maintaining appropriate systems for all documentation and administrative processes including the management of information maintained on the shared drive and other filing systems (e.g. Microsoft Teams).

Engaging effectively with appropriate internal and external networks relevant to the business of the Northampton Business Clinic, ensuring effective communication and sharing of information and ideas.

This post will work closely with the Northampton Business Clinic Manager. The post sits within a wider administrative support team and is directly line managed by the Faculty Manager.

Whilst remote working is available for this post the number of days per week will vary during each semester depending on the requirements of the post, this will be discussed in more detail at interview.

We are an accredited Living Wage Foundation Employer and pay the real living wage, which is currently £25,949 per annum. In recognition of this, the starting salary for this post has been increased to pay this higher amount which currently supersedes the actual Grade 4 salary before living wage.

About You

The post holder will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and be able to liaise with UON staff and external stakeholders at all levels. The post holder will use their initiative to come up with solutions to problems, knowing when to escalate, when required. The post holder will have significant experience of administration and/or customer service, in support of delivery of systems and processes as well as excellent organisational skills. The post holder will have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office package.

Qualifications

Essential;

5 GCSEs including Mathematics and English Language at Grade C or above or equivalent.

Desirable;

A Levels, or equivalent.

Hold a relevant professional level qualification in either: administration, finance, HR or marketing.

Faculty/Department

The Faculty of Business and Law has five schools covering subjects such as Accounting, Criminal Justice Studies, Criminology, Marketing, Law, Business, Logistics and Human Resource Management, alongside a Partnerships team, with around 250 academic staff and over 5000 students. Led by a Dean and two Deputy Deans, we offer a broad portfolio of courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. We also maintain several successful academic partnerships in the UK and internationally through which several of our courses are delivered.

An ambitious plan to optimise our existing course portfolio and align it with cutting edge industry practice over the next 2 years offers an exciting opportunity for individuals that share our drive to make a direct contribution to our accelerated growth.
