About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Learning Support Assistant (with an English Specialism) to join a welcoming and supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Southend, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.


Key Responsibilities
· Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
· Support pupils English development, including reading, writing, phonics, and communication skills
· Implement and support EHCP targets under the guidance of teaching staff
· Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
· Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation
· Assist with personal care where required (training provided)
· Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals


The Ideal Candidate Will Have
· Previous experience working in an SEN setting (essential)
· Strong knowledge and confidence supporting English / literacy
· A patient, calm, and proactive approach
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
· A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
