Summary

Our client, a renowned educational institution in Hounslow, Greater London, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-time SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their dynamic team. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive daily rate of £88.92 to £100, making it an attractive proposition for experienced professionals in the field of special educational needs (SEN) support.

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with a wide range of special educational requirements. Your responsibilities will involve working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create and implement personalised learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they are fully engaged and making progress in their learning
- Assisting students with various tasks, such as reading, writing, numeracy, and other academic subjects, as well as personal care and mobility needs
- Collaborating with the teaching staff to adapt and differentiate lesson plans and resources to meet the individual needs of students
- Monitoring and recording students' progress, behaviour, and attainment, and sharing this information with the teaching team and other relevant professionals
- Participating in the planning and delivery of targeted interventions and support programmes to address specific learning, social, or emotional needs
- Fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being, self-esteem, and independence of students with SEN
- Attending and contributing to meetings, such as SEN reviews and multi-disciplinary team discussions, to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
- Undertaking relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEN

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Relevant qualifications in education, special educational needs, or a related field (e.g. , NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools)
- Proven experience of working with students with a range of special educational needs, such as autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, or behavioural challenges
- A strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and the ability to implement effective strategies to support student learning and development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs
- Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficient in the use of assistive technologies and digital resources to enhance learning experiences
- Valid enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the ability to obtain one
- Experience of working in a similar role within a mainstream or specialist educational setting
- Training or qualifications in specific interventions or strategies (e.g. , TEACCH, Makaton, or ABA)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in the field of special educational needs
- Familiarity with the local authority's SEN provision and support services
