Mitie are recruiting for an experienced Cleaning Contract Manager with a strong background in food hygiene and food manufacturing. This role leads the hygiene operation on a busy food production site, ensuring consistently high standards of cleanliness, compliance and service delivery.
Role OverviewAs the Cleaning Contract Manager - Food Hygiene, you will be responsible for all cleaning and hygiene activities across the site. You will ensure full compliance with food safety legislation, BRC standards, and site-specific hygiene requirements, while managing and developing a large team.
Key Responsibilities
-Maintain, update and audit all operational documentation, including:
-Daily, periodic and deep-clean schedules
-Cleaning Risk Assessments
-Cleaning Instruction Cards
-Training records
-Lead, train and develop hygiene operatives and supervisors, ensuring all training requirements are met.
-Ensure all hygiene activities within the food manufacturing environment are completed to strict food safety and hygiene standards.
-Carry out internal compliance audits and hygiene inspections, and support BRC and customer audit processes.
-Work flexibly to meet changing operational and client needs.
-Oversee contract delivery, ensuring all activities follow Mitie procedures.
-Manage labour hours, staffing levels, budget and site resources effectively.
What We're Looking For
-Motivated, adaptable and confident manager.
-Strong experience within Food Manufacturing, Food Hygiene or FMCG environments (essential).
-Proven experience managing hygiene or cleaning operations within a food production site.
-Level 3 Food Safety qualification (desirable).
-Experience with BRC standards and audit preparation.
-Excellent communication skills and competent user of Microsoft Office.
-Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
-Full UK Driving Licence (essential) to support wider operational duties.
