Vector Recruitment Solutions are working with a growing business utilities business who are looking to appoint an Bookkeeper to support their finance and operations team. This is a key role for an organised and detail-focused individual with experience in bookkeeping and Xero, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
The Accounts Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of the business, ensuring accurate records, timely payments, and effective financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping using Xero, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and debtor management
- Processing payroll and maintaining accurate employee payment records
- Creating invoices and credit notes
- Maintaining and reconciling supplier accounts
- Processing BACS payments, preparing cheques and completing monthly payment runs
- Managing staff expenses and ensuring correct approvals
- Reconciling supplier statements and ensuring invoices are paid on time
- Completing VAT returns
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Maintaining organised financial and administrative records
- Providing general administrative and finance support to management
About You
- Previous experience in an Bookkeeper Finance Administrator or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll and VAT
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Professional, reliable and able to work independently
- Experience working in the Utilities, Construction or similar industry would be advantageous.
