To provide flexible support for young man, enabling independence.

Job Details

I am a confident young man with Down Syndrome and I currently attend a

residential college but am seeking a friendly and responsible PA to provide support

with everyday activities during holidays. I’m very sociable, so my PA will support

me to enjoy all aspects of a normal life while maintaining my safety. Some examples of things that I like to do include going out to meet friends, eating out, cinema, bowling and theatre.

Other PAs are employed.

Required Characteristics

 Flexible and reliable (available during college holidays)

 Some knowledge/experience of Down Syndrome an advantage

 Shared interests

 Driver with a clean licence an advantage (able to drive Motability car).

Post: Personal Assistant

 The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour

 Hours of work: up to 800 hours annually, to be used flexibly during holidays

by arrangement

 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays

 Free training as appropriate for role

The post is subject to the following:

 A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of

which will be covered by the employer.

 Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
