Summary
Exciting opportunities have arisen at the Royal London Hospital for Theatre Health Care Support Workers to work alongside our scrub, recovery and Anaesthetic practitioners at our state-of-the-art theatre and recovery suites in Main Theatres.
We currently have 26 state-of-the art elective and emergency theatres, covering a variety of specialties and complex procedures: Hepatobiliary, complex ENT, trauma & orthopaedics, reconstructive orthopaedics, neurosurgery, complex vascular surgery, intervention radiology, maxilla facial surgery, robotic procedures, renal transplants, plastic reconstructive surgery, neonatal surgery, shared airway ENT, ophthalmic surgery, along with providing paediatric expertise to the major trauma service in South East of England. The department also covers a diverse range of both elective and emergency work in a variety of specialties including major trauma, via the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS).
We also provide regular cover other specialities within the hospital, including our specialist dental treatment rooms, endoscopy unit, radio-interventional suite, MRI/CT Scanner suites and our specialised staff work along the Trauma Team in Emergency Department’s Resuscitation area.
The Senior Healthcare Support Worker will be an integral part of the ward/department team actively taking part in meeting the needs of patients and of the service in accordance with agreed standards under direct supervision of the registered nurses, nurse associates and midwives. The post holder will develop essential competencies though training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority.
