Summary


The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint two 10 Consultant Medical Oncologists in GI and AOS. Applicants may apply for one or both roles and should indicate their preference at application.

Role 1:

The postholder will act as the named Clinical Supervisor for the AOS Physician Associate (PA). They will work closely with AOS consultant colleagues to ensure the PA receives direct clinical supervision throughout the working week. The job plan for this role includes AOS clinical activity scheduled on Thursdays.

Role 2:
The postholder will act as the Clinical Lead for the Acute Oncology Service at Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust (ESTH). Responsibilities include working in partnership with the AOS Lead Nurse to oversee: Compulsory national data submissions (COSD), Service development and governance. The job plan for this role includes AOS clinical activity scheduled on Fridays.

The postholder will be employed by The Royal Marsden Hospital and based at the Sutton site for Gastrointestinal (GI) programme activities. They will play a pivotal role in delivering Acute Oncology Services at Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust, as well as contributing to the GI service at The Royal Marsden Hospital.

The postholder will be required to participate in the Royal Marsden out-of-hours medical oncology consultant on-call rota. Job planning will be undertaken collaboratively between the employer and postholder. The postholder will report to the Head of the GI Unit and be managed within the Division of Cancer Services.

Tumour-specific clinical commitments will be delivered within the GI Unit. Office accommodation and secretarial support will be provided at the Sutton site of The Royal Marsden Hospital. Clinical and research activities within the GI team are supported by resident doctors (HEE trainees and specialty registrars)
