Location: Kettering, NN16 8TL
Client: North Northamptonshire Council
Contract Length: Until 8 April 2026
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00)
Rate:
£14.13 per hour PAYE
£17.90 per hour Umbrella
IR35: Inside IR35
Start Date: 2 February 2026
The Role
This is a short-term project role supporting Place and Economy Services. The work is predominantly admin-based, with some face-to-face public engagement.
Key duties include:
Accurate data entry using Excel, Word, and specialist software
Working through structured lists to convert bus stop codes and transfer outstanding stops
Conducting bus surveys with members of the public in Kettering (ad hoc, not constant)
Most admin tasks can be completed from home, but you must be willing to attend site for survey work when required.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll need to be:
Highly detail-focused and accurate with data
Comfortable working to deadlines without hand-holding
Confident using Excel and Word (no excuses here)
Professional and approachable when dealing with the public
Able to build rapport quickly and communicate clearly face-to-face
This is not a purely remote role. If you don’t like speaking to people in person, it’s not for you.
Compliance
No DBS required
No BPSS required
Right to Work and references required
Why Apply?
Solid public sector experience
Hybrid working (admin from home where possible)
Clear project scope with a defined end date
Decent rate for a straightforward, well-structured role
If you’re organised, accurate, and can handle both admin work and the occasional public-facing task without drama, this will suit you.
