Our Operations Managers play a crucial role helping deliver justice and you will be accountable for day to day operations across multiple tribunal jurisdictions across Scotland including Social Security & Child Support, Criminal Injuries Compensation, Employment Tribunals, Immigration and Asylum and Upper Tier Tribunals. We are seeking an experienced leader able to motivate remote teams, foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensure our services are customer focused and efficient.

About your role
Glasgow Tribunals Centre serves as Scotland’s primary hub for tribunal administration and hearings, supporting five jurisdictions. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight across multiple jurisdictions within the Glasgow Tribunals Centre and other Scottish locations, supporting the Deputy Head of Tribunals Operations to meet operational needs and deliver performance objectives.
You will be at the forefront of organisational change, making a real difference in how service is delivered, working in a supportive environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
Leading a team of Delivery Manager’s to provide a consistent and customer-focused service, you’ll drive a collaborative culture across the cluster, ensure effective deployment of resources and manage an allocated budget to control delegated expenditure, ensuring efficiencies are made.
About you
You’re a resilient and positive leader who thrives on delivering effective and efficient services and enjoys working with a variety of stakeholders. You lead by example, coaching and developing your team in setting local priorities and objectives to achieve National/Regional and Area strategies and plans.
You’re able to work collaboratively with other Operations Managers in the region to manage conflicting demands on the business and able to reprioritise local and regional goals where required.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in a challenging operations or management role with the ability and willingness to adapt and learn at pace
Able to lead and develop successful teams to drive performance to deliver measurable results, particularly through periods of change.
Proven experience in budget management and resource allocation and the ability to make informed and timely decisions
Able to remain calm through periods of high pressure and confident when motivating others to deliver at pace
Skilled in engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels, respecting differing perspectives and dealing with/offering constructive challenge

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public.
Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJ’s Flexible Working policy.
Applications for part-time working would be considered however due to the nature of the role the minimum hours would be 30 hours per week over 4 days. Please note we are unable to accommodate Monday or Friday as non-working days
Location: Although this role is based at Glasgow Tribunals Centre, regular travel between venues across Scotland, including Dundee, Aberdeen, and Inverness, will be required on at least a quarterly basis.
