Summary
Who we’re looking for:
In this strategic and hands-on role, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns that bring the University’s brand to life across multiple channels. Acting as a Marjon brand guardian, you’ll ensure our messaging is clear, consistent and impactful, while championing high-quality, insight-led content that supports student recruitment, reputation and wider institutional priorities.
You’ll provide leadership to the Strategic Marketing Team and work closely with colleagues across the University to shape campaigns that are creatively strong, evidence-based and aligned with organisational goals. The role requires sound creative and commercial judgement, confidence working with senior stakeholders, and the ability to balance strategic oversight with operational delivery.
You will have:
• A proven track record of delivering and optimising multi-channel marketing campaigns, with accountability for performance, KPIs and return on investment
• Experience developing and leading content strategies, with strong editorial judgement, storytelling and copywriting skills
• Confidence using audience insight, market intelligence and analytics to shape strategy and inform continuous improvement
• Working knowledge of CMS platforms, social and search marketing tools, CRM/automation systems and analytics platforms (e.g. GA4)
• Experience applying brand frameworks and ensuring consistent implementation across channels
• The ability to manage competing priorities and budgets in a fast-paced environment
• Experience leading or developing marketing professionals and contributing to team capability-building
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders
What you’d be doing:
As Content and Campaigns Manager, you’ll lead the University’s integrated marketing and content activity, ensuring campaigns are strategically aligned, insight-led and deliver measurable impact. You’ll also play a key role in strengthening brand governance and enabling colleagues across the institution to produce high-quality, on-brand communications.
You’ll need to enjoy:
• Collaborating with others: working across teams to deliver joined-up, effective marketing activity
• Leading and supporting people: creating a positive, high-performing team culture
• Communicating with impact: translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives
• Thinking strategically and creatively: using insight, evidence and innovation to strengthen engagement and brand performance
• Working flexibly and at pace: managing multiple priorities and adapting to change with confidence
Where you’ll work:
You’ll be based in the External Engagement Directorate on our green campus in the north of Plymouth.
Under our hybrid working policy, you may work from home or on campus; however, regular on-site presence is expected to support collaboration, stakeholder engagement and delivery.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Roger Pitt, Director of External Engagement, at rpitt@marjon.ac.uk.
