Job Overview
We are seeking a fully qualified Approved Electrician with a valid DBS check to support electrical installation works on a commercial extension project. The role involves carrying out high-quality electrical installations in line with current regulations, project specifications, and site safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Install electrical systems for a commercial extension
Carry out first and second fix electrical works
Install containment systems (tray, trunking, conduit)
Wiring of lighting, power, emergency lighting, and fire alarm interfaces
Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
Ensure all works comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
Complete electrical installation work
Liaise with site managers, other trades, and contractors
Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment
Adhere to safeguarding procedures due to DBS-required site access
Required Qualifications & Experience
Approved Electrician status (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
ECS Gold Card
Valid Standard DBS Check
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
2391 / 2394 & 2395 or equivalent testing & inspection qualification (preferred)
Proven experience on commercial construction or extension projects
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical installations
High attention to detail and quality workmanship
Good problem-solving skills
Excellent time management and reliability
Clear communication skills
Health & Safety
Strong understanding of site health & safety procedures
Experience working under RAMS and method statements
